CHANGE OF NUMBER for 2 Mb/s Streams (R2 & SS7)
|

|
DEVIOMAT 1 is a Change of Number system for 2 Mb/s PCM streams with call rerouting. The functions performed by modern Change of Number systems ensure that telephone line traffic always gets through and that any problems that may arise in the dealings between subscribers subject to number changes and the telephone service operator are immediately smoothed out. With DEVIOMAT, traffic to the old number is always rerouted towards the new number; a change of number creates no inconvenience for callers whereas called parties do not lose phone calls. At the same time, the service operator avoids traffic losses and improves the quality of the service offered. DEVIOMAT can be connected to a digital exchange with a maximum of 8 x 2 Mb/s PCM streams with associated channel signaling, 4 are incoming streams and 4 are outgoing streams for a total of 120 simultaneous connections. After reception of an old number on one channel of the incoming stream, DEVIOMAT compares it with the contents of the data base created in the programming phase, searches for the old number/new number pairing and sends the caller a voice message with the called party's new number and a request to hold. The system simultaneously dials the new number on one channel of the outgoing stream and gets through to the called party. On receiving the end-of-pulsing signal, DEVIOMAT becomes fully transparent and puts the two subscribers in communication. In the event of an incoming number not in the data base and therefore unknown to the system, a notification message different from the change of number text is emitted. With DEVIOMAT the messages are always given from the beginning and may be in 4 different languages (Italian, English, French and German) in the order desired by the customer. The system can be programmed locally through the keyboard and display on the front panel or from a Personal Computer using an appropriate application package distributed with the system on floppy disk. Programming is equally possible from a remote PC connected via modem on a switching line. DEVIOMAT can also provide complete statistics on the traffic it handles.
